*Today was spent getting the house prepared for Mom’s reception tomorrow. It ended up being a bigger project than I anticipated. I was hoping to get to bed and have everything done, so I could just relax Friday morning before the service. But still a few things left to do Friday morning. But it was nice having little tasks to focus on throughout the day, and to prepare our house for Mom’s celebration.
*Christy and Debbie came over around 9 a.m. bearing a latte. They wanted to see all the things we had done around the house, incorporating Mom’s things into our home. We also had a nice visit while they were here.
*Zoe spend most of the day working on the slide show for the service tomorrow. It turned out really nice.
*Some of the food got dropped off throughout the day for the reception tomorrow. I have been overwhelmed by the generosity of people wanting to chip in to help bring food. I guess Bill and Christy even turned down people’s offers. Sharing food is such an act of kindness.
*Paul and Zoe headed over to Bill and Debbie’s house for dinner around 6, then over to the church to make sure the slide show was working, and to do some sound checks for the music. Many of our cousins had arrived and were gathered at Bill and Debbie’s house. I stayed home to finish my cleaning project and to wait the arrival of Molly, Travis and Cosette, who were traveling home from Moscow. They arrived around 7:30 p.m., and we headed over to the church.
*All went well at the church. We came home and worked some more, and talked about the plans for tomorrow, and enjoyed visiting. Then we all headed for bed, ready to celebrate Mom’s long and full life tomorrow.
