Goodbye to VIPKid...Hello to Grow Me a Story

Last Friday I taught my final class to a student in China through VIPKid.  It was hard saying goodbye to these amazing students.  It was particularly hard to say goodbye to Peppa and Iris, who I have taught since I began in the fall of 2018.  China has new regulations in place, and “foreign teachers” are no longer allowed to teach the students in mainland China.

This experience will stay with me the rest of my life.  I learned so much about the Chinese country and their culture.  And it doesn’t matter where you live…kids and kids, and have their ups and downs.  Some love to learn.  Some not so much.

I remember during the Covid lockdown at the beginning of 2020, how brave these children were in class.  If you didn’t know there was a pandemic emerging from China and that their whole country was on lockdown, you would have never known this was happening.  Life went on as usual, at least in the VIPKId classroom.

Here are my final insights of teaching with VIPKid.

Paul has a few more classes over the weekend, and then he, too, will be done.  I am glad it is something we could do together and share our love of teaching these beautiful children.

But things change and come to an end, and then there are new beginnings.

And that is what is happening in our lives.

This week we have started gathering email addresses to share with people information about our new business, Grow Me A Story, LLC.  Paul and I are calling ourselves Creativity Consultants.  The purpose of this business is to help people live a more creative life.

There are tools you can use in your daily life to help creativity flow.  We are also firm believers that EVERYONE is creative in their own way.  And we believe the God, The Creator, works through us to help us create, and then we put that good creation out in the world for all to see.

We incorporate our love of gardening with this process of living a creative life.  You can take a quiz to find out what “Season” of creativity you are currently in, winter, spring, summer or fall.

In December there will be an opportunity to become a member of our Grow Me A Story community.  As a member you can share creative projects in a private, online community. You can have access to “Dreams and Bones, a podcast where we interview people we know who are living the creative life.

When the membership window opens, you can sign up for a year, or you can sign up by seasons.  There will be four different sessions that will go by the seasons.  The first session opens on the first day of winter, December 21.

If you sign up for our email list, you will be sent all this information.

Paul and I will also offer one on one creativity coaching and will eventually develop courses to help you live a more creative life.

If this sounds interesting or intriguing to you, sign up by going to www.growmeastory.com.

Once you sign up, you will be sent a weekly email on Monday, and a blog post written by Paul on Tuesdays, and one written by me on Thursdays.

All this is free to our subscribers.

Take some time.  Get to know us through our writings and our website, once it gets ready to launch.

Then you can decide if you would like to go further into learning more about living a creative life.

We would love to have you a part of our community!!
