Gathering Graces 7/3/2018

*Happy 55th Birthday to me!!
*The day began with a solo walk through town this morning.  It was a little chilly this morning.  But it felt so good to have a good walk to start off the day.
*I received a email this morning letting me know I had passed my Mock Class for VIPKID, and now I just have a checklist of items to take care of before I actually begin teaching VIPKID students.
*I went over to see how Christy was doing before I headed to work today.  She was looking really good, and was in good spirits.  I wished Everett a Happy Birthday, as we share a birthday on this wonderful day of July 3rd.
*After my visit I went home and made a salad for lunch, and drove to Wallace.  It was a busy day at the Sierra Silver Mine Tour today, and, as a treat to myself, I had Cynthia made me an affogato.  If you are unfamiliar with this wonderful treat, it is a scoop of ice cream (I chose Espresso ice cream) with a shot of espresso poured over the top of it. (Affogato means “drowned” in Italian.)   One year ago I was spending my birthday in Italy, and, if I remember correctly, I think I had an affogato for my birthday dinner that evening.  It might have to become a birthday tradition.  I have not had ice cream since the end of February, when I had a Shamrock Shake from McDonalds.  And I don’t typically eat sugar.  So the combination of ice cream and espresso got me revved up this afternoon!!!
*Another special birthday treat was Paul arriving at the Sierra Silver Mine Tour ticket office and gift shop with two of his Driver’s Ed students to sing me the Happy Birthday song.  It was  a real treat!!
Happy Birthday to you!!
*I arrived home around 6 p.m. and was treated to a wonderful dinner of grilled steak, shrimp, green beans and grilled romaine.  A perfect dinner!  Before dinner, Molly and I went out and picked raspberries, that had recently come on with a vengeance.  We got a nice little bowlful of delicious raspberries.

*Cosette called and wished me a Happy Birthday from Moscow.  Her and Taylor will arrive Thursday evening.
*After dinner, Paul made a bonfire in the backyard, where Zoe, Jason, Laurie, Travis, Molly, Paul and I all gathered around to visit and enjoy the warmth of the fire.

Birthday bonfire!!!

*One item I need to upload for the VIPKID list is a copy of my college diploma or college transcript.  Paul and I searched the basement, various shelves and closets throughout the house, and had no luck finding my diploma.  (I found Zoe’s diploma.  Paul found his diploma.  But no luck finding mine.)  Tomorrow I will order a copy of my U of I transcript so I can upload it to VIPKID.
*Facebook always makes birthdays fun.  I received birthday greeting from friends and family from all around the world!!  I also did a Facebook birthday fund-raiser for the Sixth Street Melodrama.  My goal was to raise $550 dollars for the theater.  Online, I raised $545.  I also have some additional money I received from friends and family members while I was in Meridian, adding an additional $100 to the total.  So the fund-raiser brought in $645 for the theater.  I am overwhelmed and so thankful for the generosity of all of you who contributed to the Sixth Street Melodrama.
